R.I.P. Luke Ceballos

Last month I lost my close friend to a motorcycle accident. Luke Ceballos was an inspiration and a great friend that always pushed me to get my art out and to do more projects. Stereo Skateboards, Loser Machine, Gnarbro , Volcom and other companies have given me a change to cope with this tragedy and help raise money for his fiance and family. Please keep them in your thoughts and support the companies that supported our friend.

Susan G Koman Benefit

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month in October so atomic hasjoined with the Susan G Koman Foundation to do some tattoos for a good cause.

"$60 Pink Ribbons- Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Because we want to help make a difference, Atomic Tattoo joins the fight against breast cancer.
During the month of October come into any location and choose a tattoo design from any of our pre-designed pink ribbon tattoos for only $60. (Other designs available for additional cost). As a proud supporter of Susan G. Komen For the Cure, Atomic Tattoo will donate $15 for every pink ribbon tattoo applied during the month of October. All proceeds directly benefit the Austin community through the Austin affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Show your support with your own pink ribbon tattoo from Atomic"

food for thought

It's not very often that you hear someone have an idea that you have to stop and recognize as a complete original. Ryan Holloway is the smartest skateboarder I know and he's found a way to break down skateboarding and the basic movements in volved in a way that he's teaching kids to progress at an amazing rate. I've always been an advocate of "action sports". I'm a firm believer that doing these individual sports help shape young lives. The lessons in goal setting and self motivation not to mention the physical exercise make these "sports" well worth the time. I was lucky enough to be asked to help develope a logo and shirt design for Holloway and his martial art of skateboarding. I made the logo to reflect his pop / counter pop theory he teaches and the tiger to represent power and the curves in the yin yang to represent flow.If you have kids give www.martialartofskateboarding.com  a look.

I really enjoy the side projects I do and as cool as I think things look on my computer screen I'm always happy and excited to see the finished product. Here is the actual AMP energy

fridge I designed for the Capital Skatepark.
